9:59 – Previously on Top Chef, Amy didn’t have time to live-blog. Sorry about that. See HERE to see what we missed. Also previously on Top Chef, there was a lesbian couple that Bravo really wants us to think is important when really, no one cares. However, since they’re showing it in the Previouslys, clearly one of them is on the chopping block tonight. Also, someone named Valerie was eliminated. Yawn.
10:00 – Padma’s product placement intro.
10:01 – The chefs talk about “the reality” of losing another contestant. Again, these people know they are on a reality show, right? It’s called “Top Chef,” perhaps you’ve heard of it? Guys, someone’s getting eliminated EVERY week. You better start getting used to it.

General Electric: 1:00 spot
Agency: BBDO New York
A cute, amusing little spot for GE’s “Imagination at Work” campaign. Sure, it’s a little bit of a stretch to healthcare in rural China, & it’s a little Chinese music video-y, but it’s sweet & it tells a story, & it’s hard to go wrong with that. I thought it was lovely.

9:59 – Top Chef is going to Chicago! 16 chefs…jeez, that’s a lot. Did they just say 24 challenges? Good God. Padma, Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons & Ted Allen are all back.
10:00 – We see a bunch of chefs arrive in Chicago & hear them say their names, which I immediately forget, & they talk about themselves a little. Sorry, guys, I traditionally don’t care about the contestant’s stories until at least the top 10. Let’s be real. You’ll be lucky if I pick up a name before episode 5. If you want names, go here.

9:59 – Previously on Project Runway, Chris showed some pieces with human hair, is subsequently auf-ed. Rami, Jillian & Christian are going to Fashion Week. If Rami somehow wins, I will truly lose my faith in this show.
10:01 – Christian’s fierce hair looks even more insane that usual. He talks about how nervous he is. In the workroom, Rami interviews that Christian was surprised at how strong his collection is. Surprisingly, Christian does indeed look kind of nervous. I’m confused. Who is this nervous person & where did Christian go?
